Holden Park in Oakworth will have the magic touch on Saturday with the return of Fairy Fest.
Organisers of the third annual instalment of the enchanting event, which attracts many people in fairy, sprite and goblin costumes, said this year’s occasion could be the best yet.
Inspired by the park’s maze of grottoes and caves, fairy enthusiast and entertainer Frejya Fire Sprite came up with the idea in 2011, and along with the Friends of Holden Park, launched the popular festival.
Friends chairman, Jackie McGinnis, said: “We’ve got between 30 and 40 stalls, far more than we’ve had before, and we’ll be having pony rides.
“We’ll also have food and refreshments, a medieval band called Serpentyne, Haworth Ukulele Group, belly dancing and individual singers.
“Sea Cadets are helping out and entry is by donation. We ask people to please put their hands in their pockets and donate as we want to raise enough money to develop a play area for older children.”
Fairy Fest runs from noon to 6pm.
