Oakworth Playgroup, Oakworth Methodist Church, open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings every week during term time. It is open from 9.15-11.40am, contact 07748 425182.

Oakworth old people’s welfare group meet in Holden Hall from 1.45-3.30pm. There is always something going on with bingo, dancing, etc at their weekly meetings and trips to various interesting destinations during the summer months. New members are always made very welcome.
Keighley Youth Theatre, KYDZ, meets every Thursday at Oakworth Methodist Church. The group has up to 20 members aged ten to 18, and recruit new members through drama workshops. The group learn drama skills as well as devising performances; they usually present two stage productions each year. Next production coming soon – watch this space.
Sunday: Christ Church, family service at 9.30am, followed by tea and coffee in the church hall. St John’s Church, Newsholme, sung evensong service at 3pm. Methodist church, holy communion service at 10.30am, led by the Rev Terry Porter and, followed by refreshments. Slack Lane Baptist Church service at 10.45am.
Crossing the Bridge is a youth group for Oakworth young people aged 13-18 who are interested in learning more about being a Christian in today’s society. The group meets fortnightly on a Sunday evening from 7-8.30pm at Oakworth Methodist Church. Meetings are varied using ideas put forward from all members of the group.
Monday: Oakworth Scouts meet on in at Holden Hall, at 7pm. New members are always welcome.
Sonia’s Legs, Bums and Tums fitness classes at Oakworth Juniors clubhouse from 6.30-7.30pm. Admission is£3 per session. Contact Sonia on 07958 280291.

Oakworth Ruggers make rugs out of old clothes cut into strips and prodded through hessian. They meet in Oakworth Methodist Church lounge on the third Monday of each month at 6.30pm. Everyone welcome.

Oakworth Morris dancers are always on the look out for dancers and musicians. They can teach anyone to dance. They practise most Monday nights between September and July at Oakworth Methodist Church from 8pm. Further information can be obtained from ovmm.co.uk.

Little Squirrels toddler group, term time only, 9.15-11.15am, in the main room at Holden Hall, with music, structured play and healthy snack included in the admission price of £2. Parents are asked to lend a hand getting out and putting away toys at the start and end.
Cubs and Beavers of the village meet in the Methodist Church this evening; Beavers from 5.45-6.45pm and Cubs from 7-8.30pm.

Coffee morning at Christ Church, with Fairtrade tea and coffee and biscuits, from 10-11.30am. This is followed by a short eucharist service at 11.30am for those who wish to stay.

Oakworth Juniors Football Club: The under-16 team entertined a visiting team from Krokelvdalen in Norway last week. They played in front of a large crowd and the Oakworth team won 7 – 1 although the Norwegian team never gave up and scored the last goal. Congratulations to the English lads and thanks for visiting our town go to the Norwegian boys.
