Barnoldswick angler is fined
5:14pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
Fishing without the correct number of licences landed a man with fines and costs of more than £1,000.
Kevin Black, 41, was caught by a water bailiff at Raygill Fishery in Lothersdale on May 25 with just one licence for his four rods, Skipton magistrates heard.
The court was told on Friday although Black had one licence, he required another for the four rods he was using – a licence costs £27 for a year.
Black, of Skipton Road in Barnoldswick, had previously been fined £400 for an almost identical offence in April last year at Windermere.
Magistrates found the case against Black proved in his absence after he failed to appear or contact the court. He was fined £800 with costs of £127.
