Diamond geezers at animal feeds company for Manorlands
4:23pm Sunday 6th October 2013 in News
Keighley business Whitakers Animal Feeds is out to prove it’s a diamond geezer.
The firm has signed-up to a Manorlands fundraising challenge marking the Sue Ryder charity’s 60th anniversary.
Organisations are being given £60 by the Oxenhope hospice and challenged to use their entrepreneurial skills to increase it by as much as possible before the end of the year.
Whitakers Animal Feeds will launch its campaign with an event on Saturday at Lane Ends Country Store in Gilstead Lane, Bingley.
Rob and Pip Wood, of Whit-akers, have recently become partners in the farm store, along with business founder Stuart Clarke.
Saturday marks Land Ends’ first anniversary, and all profits from the day’s sales will go to the Diamond Geezers pot.
Manorlands’ Keighley fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: “Whit-akers do a great deal to help us out through the year – they are the sponsors of our horse riding event, Mount Up for Manorlands, each spring and often lend us their trailers for our larger events.
“It’s great they have chosen Manorlands to support again with this special event at this excellent facility.”
Mr Clarke said: “We hope lots of people – existing customers and potential new ones – will visit us on Saturday, as the more we sell the more the charity will benefit.”
