Denholme wind turbine bid
2:20pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
Plans for a wind turbine at the Omega Proteins site in Denholme are likely to get a second stamp of approval from Bradford Council today.
Proposals for a 34 metre-tall turbine at the rendering plant at Erlings Works has already been given the green light by the council’s Keighley Planning Panel last month, but because of the location – on green belt land – the application now has to go to the council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee.
The plan had been opposed by Shipley MP Philip Davies, Denholme Town Council and 20 Denholme residents, but officers have recommended once again the council approve the application.
Even if the committee gives the turbine the green light, it still has to go before the Secretary of State for a 21-day consultation period.
