View historic Bradley mill engine
11:58am Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
An historic engine that once powered a Bradley mill will be on show to the public this weekend.
Visitors to Bancroft Mill museum in Barnoldswick will get a close-up view of the 1901 steam machine. The engine provided the power for the former Peter Green’s Cross Lane Mill at Bradley.
It was moved to Bancroft about a decade ago, where it is undergoing restoration by volunteers.
“Heavy engineering work has been briefly suspended, which gives interested visitors an opportunity to view the engine from close quarters,” said Harry Moore, for Bancroft Mill Engine Trust.
Viewing is at the museum in Gillians Lane on Sunday, between 1pm and 4.30pm.
