Keighley director of rugby Graeme Sheffield has confirmed that joint head coach Dave Lister has left the club.

Sheffield said Kevin Young, who was in joint charge alongside Lister, is now taking “full responsibility” of team matters until the end of the season.

The club declined to comment further on the departure of the former Wharfedale second-rower, who returned to Rose Cottage to end his playing days before taking up the role of head coach in the 2011-12 season.

However, Sheffield confirmed that former overall coach and forwards' coach Tim Brunskill would be helping out on a short-term basis.

Lister enjoyed success in helping them win promotion to SSE North One East via the play-offs but Keighley were relegated straight back to Yorkshire One and have struggled this season, currently finding themselves in second-bottom spot.

Meanwhile, Sheffield said it was a boost to be able to call on the services of Tom Rock.

The scrum half played in the Yorkshire Shield defeat to Selby last week and is in the line-up to face North Ribblesdale on Saturday.

However, he is not expected to be a regular due to his commitments with the RAF.

Rock, who is from Keighley, began playing with the club as a youngster before being snapped up by Leeds Carnegie. He then went on to be director of rugby at Otley.

Sheffield said: “Tom rung up out of the blue to say he was available. To have someone of his experience helping out is fantastic.”

Danny McGee apart, Keighley will travel with a strong squad as Marco Ferrazzano and Ben Blackwell resume their centre partnership, freeing Adam Horsfall to return to the wing, with Rob Wilkinson at full back.

Leigh Sugden is in the back row and David Iliff returns to the second row, with Paul Sinfield propping and Chris Morris on the bench alongside stalwart Steve Welch.
