Silsden residents were out in force to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season on Sunday.
They gathered to enjoy a festive extravaganza, culminating in the switching on of their Christmas lights late in the afternoon.
Resident Mary Fryers was given the official honour, and the ceremony was accompanied by a fireworks display.
A Christmas market operated from 10am to 4pm, with stalls in Silsden Town Hall, Bridge Street and Briggate.
Refreshments were served in the town hall by members of Horizon Taekwondo, while Santa made an appearance at the event, courtesy of a grotto provided by All Star Majorettes. People also sang along to carols performed by the church choir and town band.
The occasion was organised by Silsden Gala Committee. Chairman Mags Croft said: “I think it went extremely well. I’ve been on the committee since it started and I don’t remember seeing so many people attending before.
“We didn’t even have the lull we normally have at lunchtime – it remained really busy.
“The weather was cold but dry, so we were very grateful for that.
“There were lots of stalls selling all sorts of gifts, crafts and homemade goods. Silsden Youth Council also had a stall, and they raffled off a hamper. We managed to raise just short of £1,000 for gala funds.”
