A Keighley cafe run as a social enterprise has found a new home.

Cafe Hope, which was based at Central Hall in Alice Street, moved into the renovated North Street Arcade earlier this month.

Tracey Thomas, who runs the cafe, is offering it as a space for local artists searching for a place to put their work on display.

She said the relocation had been hard work but was hopeful it would pay off, adding a sponsor who wished to remain anonymous had helped ensure the cafe could get up and running again.

“We’re still doing the same work we did before with our volunteer workers, getting them qualified and giving them the confidence they need to go on to greater things,” she said.

“When we first moved in, there was a lot of work needed to get the place transformed, but the volunteers worked all day and night to get it ready.

“A lot of people who came to us at our old place know we’re here now – we’ve not done any publicity, just word of mouth.

“We’re also doing outside catering, and we’re working with the Great Northern pub to help run its carvery on Sunday.”
