A Keighley fashion store is giving a lift to the Breast Cancer Campaign.
Bonmarché – in the Airedale Shopping Centre – is collecting unwanted bras.
The garments are recycled, and the cancer charity raises as much as £1,000 per tonne from them.
Bonmarché launched its bra bank inn October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the venture has been so successful it will continue through the festive period.
Keighley store manager, Le-anne Hargreaves, said: “The team here is delighted to do all it can to support various charities.
“We’ve raised quite a bit during the past year or so, and made almost £200 for the Breast Cancer Campaign from the sale of cakes in the store a few weeks ago. We plan to do another bake sale in the run-up to Christmas.”
Airedale Shopping Centre manager, Steve Seymour, said: “I am very grateful and not surprised our lady shoppers are doing their bit to support the Bonmarché bra collection, and bravo to everyone concerned.”
