Keighley-based Colin Apple-yard group is embarking on a programme to double the size of its showroom in Coney Lane.

It has begun this expansion following its purchase of the Nissan dealership from the Co-operative Motor Group in Keighley earlier this year.

The business says the Coney Lane improvements will include a new suspended ceiling and valeting area, and will enable an extra five new cars to be put on display.

Managers anticipate the work will be completed before Christmas, with an official launch in January.

Mr Appleyard said: “This is good news for Keighley.”

Colin Appleyard has also been presented with an Excellent Customer Service Award. The honour – in recognition of high standards of customer care throughout the past year – was awarded by West Yorkshire Trading Standards’ Motor Trade Partnership, whose members make a commitment to fair and honest practices.

Tracey Cooper, Appleyard’s group administration and marketing co-ordinator, said: “We are proud to receive the award. It is testament to the commitment we make to providing excellent levels of customer service and recognition of the hard work by our staff.”
