A Christmas tree has been lit at a Keighley funeral directors in memory of those cared for by the firm.

Each white light on the tree, at David Gallagher Funeral Directors in Utley, represents someone looked after this year.

And with the company celebrating its 20th anniversary, the initiative is also paying tribute to those cared for throughout the past two decades.

Gallagher’s is also maintaining its support of chosen charity, Haworth Riding for the Disabled (RDA), and has handed over a £1,000 cheque.

Adele Gallagher, for the firm, said: “The group is invaluable to the riders and volunteers in the community, and seeing first-hand the work it continues to do made our choice of charity very easy.”

The donation will be used to buy new children’s riding hats and to provide a child’s sling for an electric hoist.

Haworth RDA, which began in 2001 and has grown rapidly over the years, relies on its own fundraising efforts and donations to maintain its provision and facilities.

It caters for more than 160 riders.
