Burger King is to open in Keighley, creating 40 jobs.

The fast-food chain will move into the Airedale Shopping Centre later this month.

It will take over a 2,000 sq ft unit, next to Marks & Spencer and Beales department store.

Gavin Ingram, for centre landlord LaSalle Investment Management, said: “We are committed to offering more visitor choice at the Airedale Centre and we welcome the arrival of such an established international brand.”

Steve Seymour, manager of the shopping centre, said the news was a “game changer” for the precinct.

“It will help us to substantially grow our food offering and we are delighted,” he told us.

“Burger King’s arrival is the result of lots of hard work behind the scenes to improve the shopping centre for the more than eight million shoppers who pass through our doors every year.

“We already have a great retail mix here, with high street giants such as Marks & Spencer, Argos, Next, Boots and New Look, along with valued independents.”
