More than 100 people attended the Keighley premiere of a film created to help young people fight back against bullying and low self-esteem.

The 21-minute film, The Broken Mirror, was screened at Keighley Picture House.

Hannah Kilcoyne, a Holy Family Catholic School pupil, wrote, produced, co-directed and starred in the film, which features a group of other students from Holy Family as actors and extras.

Hannah, who is from Oxenhope, wrote the film when she was 14, and secured a grant from Bradford Council Youth Services to fund the project.

Hannah’s mother, Erin, said: “Around 150 family and friends gathered for the premiere, including some proud parents of the cast members.

“After a warm welcome, we informed everyone that we were supporting the charity Young Minds and any donations would be appreciated.

“This is a UK charity which serves as a voice for the mental health and emotional well-being of children and young people.

“Although written by a young woman, The Broken Mirror speaks to all ages. The film touched every person in that cinema.

“Hannah is buzzing with ideas for her next project.”
