School children entered into the spirit of the Tour de France’s build-up by joining in with a project designed to create Hollywood-style ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ signs.
Worth Valley ward councillor, Russell Brown, visited Oldfield Primary as part of the Project Hollywood scheme, which was set up to involve children and young people in the Tour.
The initiative revolves around constructing a range of eye-catching signs, which will be placed in a field overlooking Shaw Lane in Oxenhope.
Coun Brown said: “Oldfield and Stanbury schools have come on board, and I’m waiting to hear back from some other schools.
“The idea is that first I go into the school and help the pupils build one of the letters.
“Then, next September, when the Tour is finished, we’ll bring that letter back into the school as a bit of a legacy.”
