Keighley firefighters are poised to take part in another walkout.
Fire Brigades Union (FBU) members have announced three more national strikes in a row over pensions.
The latest walkouts will be for five hours from 7pm on Christmas Eve, a six-hour stint from 6.30pm on New Year’s Eve and for two hours from 6.30am on January 3. There will also be an overtime ban from 7pm between December 27 and 29.
The strikes are the latest in a series staged since September by the FBU, which is fighting plans to increase employee pensions contributions and impose a pension age of 60. Currently, the age is 55, but firefighters can retire earlier if they have 25 years’ service.
Matt Wrack, of the FBU, said: “Firefighters provide a first-class standard of service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and these strikes will remind government just how reliant they are on our members’ professionalism, commitment and flexibility.”
