A Haworth driver who refused to co-operate after giving a positive roadside breath test has been banned from driving.
Deborah Kirkbright, 31, was seen by a police officer stopping her VW Golf next to the Kildwick roundabout on December 7.
The occupants got out and relieved themselves. Kirkbright admitted at the time she was the driver of the car, and provided a positive roadside breath test of 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
But at the police station, she refused to provide further specimens, as per procedure, Skipton magistrates heard on Friday.
Kirkbright, of Main Street, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis and was banned for 12 months, fined £165 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
She told the court she was guilty and that there was no excuse.
Her ban will be reduced by 12 weeks if she completes a drink drivers’ rehabilitation course by July 12.
