Friends of Keighley (Redcar) Tarn have issued their priorities for improvements to the local beauty spot.

The ‘wish list’ includes improving footpath access and tackling other road safety issues, such as speeding.

Members want to safeguard the wildfowl and wildlife in and around the tarn.

They hope to install displays at the site showing its history and wildlife.

The group wants to improve the ‘family-friendly’ environment of the tarn, while working with others to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Members will look at providing a cafe or other refreshments outlet, and raising money by selling bird food.

They also want to encourage healthy outdoor activities and exercise, and explore the tourism potential of the tarn.
