Worth Valley councillors are urging Bradford Council to do everything it can to bring high-speed broadband to their villages.

Coun Russell Brown – said he was delighted FibreValley campaigner, Ken Eastwood, and sixth former, Elliott Barker, had addressed the full council.

His colleague, Coun Glen Miller, leader of the council’s Conservative Group, welcomed the council’s response that residents should have at least a 2MB service by the end of 2015.

But he added: “I shall be calling on the council to provide proper details of a council campaign to assist local communities to secure the service being installed by Superfast West Yorkshire.

“Simply saying ‘we have thrown a few quid in, so we have done our bit’ is not enough.”
