Children’s ward kids get presents at Airedale Hospital

Children stuck in hospital during the festive period have been given Christmas presents thanks to the University of Bradford.

For the fourth year running, students and staff at the School of Health Studies have been busy collecting gifts for children who will be spending the festive season in either Airedale Hospital or Bradford Royal Infirmary.

And this year they raised more than £180 and collected more than 100 gifts.

They were handed out to young patients in the paediatrics unit at BRI on December 16, and to children at Airedale Hospital last Thursday.

Dean of the School of Health Studies, Dr Pam Bagley, said: “Both Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust provide an excellent level of support for our students whilst they are on their clinical placements.

“We are delighted to be able to express our thanks once again this year, and to bring some festive cheer to families whose children are spending Christmas in hospital.”
