A Cross Hills car dealership has given Manor-lands a bumper boost.

White Rose Volkswagen has donated £1,500 to the hospice in lieu of sending Christmas cards. It is the fifth year in succession the firm has given a donation, which is linked to its support of the annual Manorlands Keighley BigK 10K event.

Sue Ryder regional fundraiser, Andrew Wood, said: “The support White Rose Volkswagen and our other main sponsors gave helped us raise £48,000 with the Keighley BigK 10K this year.

“The money is crucial to assist us to continue our work helping 1,170 people in the local community – with cancer and other incurable illnesses – each year.”

White Rose Volkswagen managing director, Frank Greenway, said: “We were delighted to once again make this donation to Manorlands hospice as an alternative to sending Christmas cards to our customers.

“We’d still like to thank our customers for their continued support, but I’m sure they appreciate our decision to make this donation to support the fantastic work Manorlands continues to do.”
