More than 200 crimes were recorded in Keighley between the start of November and the first nine days of December, it has been revealed.
Acting sergeant Adam Beecroft delivered the figures during the latest Keighley Town Council watch and transport committee meeting.
He said the 218 offences were recorded in Keighley’s Central, East and West wards, adding there had been an increase in the number of burglaries during this period.
He said theft from motor vehicles continues to be a problem, mainly at night and from insecure vehicles. He added ‘making off without payment’ from petrol stations was another “area of concern”. A crime reduction officer is working with petrol stations to address the issue.
