Officers are putting the brakes on nuisance night-time drivers who regularly meet at a Keighley shopping park.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team is making regular swoops on Keighley Retail Park to break up noisy gatherings.
Officers this week confirmed 15 motorists had been spoken to regarding offences such as driving with no tax or insurance.
And they pledged to continue patrolling the large car park, which is off Hard Ings Road near Keighley’s KFC and McDonald’s outlets.
The police launched the clampdown in response to complaints from residents of Lawkholme and Showfield, whose homes overlook the retail park.
District councillor Abid Hussain, whose Keighley Central ward includes the retail park, said residents had raised the matter with him.
He added: “It’s young lads who go down and have a chat.
“They go around in their cars – they are speeding and showing off.
“The police are aware of it and are looking into it very seriously. We fully support the police action – they’re doing a good job there.”
The Neighbourhood Policing Team revealed its Keighley Retail Park operation in a Twitter message last week.
The tweet stated: “Keighley Retail Park causing you a nuisance on an evening? Well tonight we’re out being a nuisance to the drivers!”
