Budding young Keighley archaeologists are being invited to sign up to a special club.
A local branch of the UK-wide Young Archaeologists’ Club is hoping to unearth new recruits. The Yorkshire Dales group currently has 25 members, aged up to 17.
Spokeswoman, Debbie Allen, said: “On average, we meet one Saturday morning a month to take part in exciting activities, like willow weaving, stone carving and mosaic making.
“Our members also learn new skills, like surveying and field walking, and explore different historical periods.
“And the youngsters have learned about and practised different archaeological techniques, gone on several trips to historical sites and even helped in the filming of Channel 4’s Time Team.”
The club is also keen to hear from people with archaeological skills or knowledge willing to help the group.
