The government has overturned a Bradford Council decision to block a takeaway from opening in Denholme.
Lisa Hardy had applied for permission to change the use of Granny Hardy’s Kitchen cafe in Station Road to a hot-food takeaway. The application was refused in May, with the council citing concerns about parking, its unsuitability for a residential area and the way in which food smells would be extracted.
She lodged an appeal, and now a planning inspector has decided the application should have been allowed.
The inspector – N McGurk – said: “I find the proposal would not lead to levels of noise and disturbance unduly greater than those already experienced in the area.”
