Alzheimer’s Society dementia support workers are to hold information drop-in sessions in libraries across Craven.

The trained and experienced staff will be able to talk to visitors about all aspects of dementia, including support and information, how to live well with the condition, financial and legal matters, planning for the future and local support groups.

They will also signpost to services and activities run by other organisations.

Locality manager Gill Myers said: “People with dementia and their carers are often isolated by their geography or lack of transport and may be unable to afford the time or money to seek out what is available to help them.”

Drop-in sessions in South Craven are at Cross Hills on Wednesday, February 5, 10am to 1pm, and at Cowling (mobile library) on Thursday, February 20, 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

The Alzheimer’s Society also runs one-to-one dementia support, singing and carers groups, social and activity groups. For more information, call 01756 799971 or e-mail Craven@alzheimers.org.uk.
