Help is at hand for Keighley people considering adoption.
A “hotline”, manned by a voluntary team of adopters, has been set up to offer information and advice and answer queries. Behind the initiative is the Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium, known as Being Family.
Manager Nic Haughton said: “Our helpline team has been specially selected for its insider knowledge of adoption.
“We want potential adopters to be able to talk to qualified members of Being Family, who understand the process and can speak about how life-changing it is.
“We have a significant shortfall of adoptive families available every year.”
The confidential helpline – 0300 222 5934 – operates from 10am to 6pm, weekdays. Being Family is also planning a roadshow to promote adoption. Visit beingfamily.co.uk or call the helpline.
