A meeting has been held as part of efforts to revive Haworth in Bloom.

Organisers staged the gathering in Haworth’s Old Hall pub, in Sun Street.

Local resident Gillian Hill, who is co-ordinating the drive to reactivate the group, said: “I envisage having small teams of people, with each team responsible for looking after one of the planters in the village.

“I think it’s very important to be able to get this group going again. We’ve won prizes in the past, and the group only really stopped due to volunteer fatigue.”

She said she hoped to take a “step back” from proceedings once Haworth in Bloom resumes its activities, adding that she is not yet sure how many volunteers it needs to make it effective.
