Oxenhope-based Bridgehouse Brewery is toasting successful festive fundraising in aid of Manorlands.

Its special Rudolph’s Ruin ale, from which 5p on every pint sold went to the Sue Ryder hospice, coined in over £250.

And the kitty was boosted to more than £330 by brewery co-owner David Halliday, who raised money by taking part in the Stoop Fell Race above Haworth – dressed as Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer!

“David did really well – there were about 400 runners and although the weather wasn’t good he still managed to finish in the top half of the field,” said Bridgehouse Brewery sales and marketing director, Simon Lamb.

“And the Rudolph’s Ruin proved extremely popular – we sold 5,000 pints. We had distributed posters promoting the fundraising to all the pubs, and I think that helped.

“We were very pleased with the amount raised.”
