Manorlands is urging people to get active and support the hospice at the same time.

The Oxenhope Sue Ryder centre has a series of fundraising events lined up.

Keighley’s annual BigK 10k takes place on March 30, Mother’s Day.

The run/walk, which follows a multi-terrain route linking the town’s parks, last year attracted over 1,000 participants and raised £49,000 for the hospice.

All those taking part will receive a shirt and goody bag, and medals will be presented to category winners. And to celebrate Mother’s Day, each mum crossing the finishing line will receive a carnation.

Advance entry costs £12 for adults and £6 for juniors, and there will be a corporate team rate.

And as cycling fever sweeps the district in the summer, with the arrival of the Tour de France Grand Depart, people will have the chance to ride on the London 2012 Olympics road race route and raise cash.
