An 82-year-old grandfather has written his first book.

Keith J Wilson’s “Letters from the Past” is a historical novel, set during the English Civil War.

Son Adrian said his dad – whose daughter Amanda and her two children both live in Keighley – had loved working on the book, which was published just before Christmas.

“He took a couple of decades to write it – he had to get all the historical context right and did a lot of research,” said Adrian, who lives in Herefordshire.

“He worked really hard but enjoyed doing it.”

He added: “I’m incredibly proud of what he has achieved. Not only is it a good read – and it has received some very positive reviews – but it is a great legacy for his family.”

Letters from the Past is a story of romance and adventure, providing an insight into the world of ordinary men and women during a time of considerable turmoil.

It is available in paperback at £8.99 and e-book at £3.99. Visit keithjwilson.co.uk or facebook.com/pages/Letters-from-the-Past/619858324725110 for more details.
