Businesses in South Craven are being invited to attend a meeting to learn about potential opportunities from the arrival this summer of the Tour de France Grand Depart.

Craven Council and Skipton’s town council and chamber of trade & commerce are organising the meeting on Tuesday.

Businesses across the area could cash in on the international bonanza.

“We are expecting large numbers of visitors during the Tour de France weekend, and we want businesses to think about how they can capitalise on this great event,” said Chris Harbron, for the organisers of the meeting, being held in Skipton Town Hall at 6pm.

Among those present will be David Shields, of Welcome to Yorkshire, Inspector Will Scarlett from North Yorkshire Police and county council emergency planning officer, Matt Robinson.

Contact Lesley Haworth on 01756 798257 or to register an interest in attending te meeting.
