Organisers of this year’s Keighley Gala plan to include a Tour de France-related theme in the festivities.
A Le Tour class will feature in the gala procession, giving participants a chance to creatively highlight cycling, France, or anything else that celebrates the renowned event’s arrival in Keighley.
The idea was revealed at the latest meeting of the Worth the Tour group.
Speaking after the meeting, 2014 gala chairman, Shona Brunskill, said: “We have slightly altered the classes in the parade, and given some of them themes, one of which is the Tour de France.
“The other themes are Carnival, First World War 100-year anniversary, vintage clothing and computer game characters.
“Anyone wanting to use the gala as a stepping stone for it by putting things in the parade or field are welcome.”
