Former Keighley News editor Malcolm Hoddy hosted a new radio show this week focusing on his passion – cycling.

He introduced the first BCB Bicycle Show at 6pm on Monday.

The programme, on BCB 106.6FM radio, includes tips from an expert panel on topics from mending punctures at the roadside to who to watch out for at the Tour de France Grand Depart in July.

Among the panelists on the first show were cycle shop owner, Barry Firth; Paul Merrett, of Sustrans; mountain biking specialist, Iain Johnson; and Francine Hoddy, of Bradford-based cycle training company Safe 2 Cycle and Malcolm’s wife.

BCB broadcast manager, Jonathan Pinfield, said: “Cycling is now on the agenda of thousands of people in the area. We needed to look at a programme on the subject, and we have a team of presenters who are experts in their own field and are all dedicated cyclists.

“One aim of the monthly programme is to get listeners involved with some of our question-and-answer sessions.”
