A Christmas present ‘amnesty’ at a Keighley Sue Ryder shop has been a massive success.
An appeal for unwanted gifts has seen an avalanche of goods dropped in at the Cavendish Street outlet.
“It’s been absolutely massive – far exceeding our expectations,” said manager, Jackie Burke.
“We have doubled our normal intake of bags since the start of this month.
“We’ve especially received a lot of children’s toys – some are brand new and have been given as presents. Quite a few ladies’ gift sets have also come in.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has given their support, and we would urge people to continue.”
Due to the sheer volume of donated goods, some have been sent to other Sue Ryder shops in the area to sell for the charity.
Items can be taken to the Keighley outlet, e-mail jack ie.burke@suerydercare.org or call 01535 604860.
