A young Keighley woman features on a single being played on BBC Radio 1 this week.

Jordan Hodson was asked to guest on the track Just Another Day by Leeds musician-producer duo Alphabet.

The song featured on BBC Radio Leeds and was chosen for the national BBC Introducing slot for unsigned artists.

Jordan’s mother, Jackie, said: “Jordan had no idea the single would take off so well.

“Alphabet write and produce music and they asked Jordan to sing this track for them. One of the remixes of the track had thousands of hits on YouTube within the first few days and now has nearly 30,000 hits.”

Jordan, who attends Leeds College of Music, regularly performs in bars and restaurants.

She last year performed at a 70s and 80s night in Keighley to raise money for the Suzie Jeng Grant Our Mummy’s Wish campaign.

Just Another Day will be played on shows hosted by Scott Mills today between 1pm and 4pm, Huw Stephens (Saturday 1pm to 4pm) and Gemma Cairney (Sunday 7am to 10am).
