Friends of Keighley (Redcar) Tarn have set up two working groups to look at potential improvements.

One group will address road-safety concerns and the possibility of building a footpath on the main approach from Keighley town centre.

The other group will explore ideas for improvements at the tarn itself, including parking, visitor facilities and wildlife protection.

A group spokesman said it was important to address all the issues concerning the popular beauty spot.

He added: “We believe this would bring much greater benefits to everyone who visits.”

The Friends are keen to involve as many people as possible, either to join the group or attend open meetings at a date to be announced.
