A 35-year-old former Keighley woman is set to stand trial on July 7 accused of murdering her partner at a block of flats in Allerton, Bradford.

Alexia Heckles was remanded back into custody by the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, after making her first appearance at the city’s crown court last Wednesday.

Heckles, now of Rosemary Gardens in Allerton, is charged with murdering Scott Dunne, 41, at the same address on January 18.

She will next appear in court on April 2 for a case management hearing, when she will enter a plea to the allegation.

Ian Howard, barrister for the prosecution, said the trial is likely to last seven days. “There are quite a number of civilian witnesses, neighbours and the like,”" he told the court.

Heckles’s barrister, Giles Bridge, made no application for bail, but said he would do so in chambers.
