Scholars had a chance to taste what it was like to be a person living in the 19th century.
The ten and 11-year-olds at Sutton Primary School took part in a Victorian Day... and turned up for class dressed for the part.
“They were so enthusiastic and really got into the spirit. Some parents hired the costumes and others made them,” said class teacher Yvonne Smith.
Characters they adopted ranged from little urchins to grand Victorian ladies and gentlemen, and they had to stick to strict Victorian etiquette throughout the day.
Ladies of the Manor – aka pupils Jordan Brown and Amy Jenkins – are pictured (above) in all their finery.
