More doctors’ surgeries in the Keighley area are opening on Saturdays.
Patients are being encouraged to use the practices rather than put extra strain on already-busy Accident and Emergency departments.
Funding from Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clin-ical Commissioning Group (CCG) is enabling six to open, most of them until March 1.
They include Silsden and Oakworth health centres and Cross Hills Group Practice.
Dr Colin Renwick, chairman of Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG, said: “We are really pleased some of our GP practices are opening on Saturdays – we appreciate the commitment from GPs and their staff.
“ As winter is a particularly busy time for A&E, we hope this will help ease some of the pressure on urgent care services.”
