A cricket-mad sports student from Riddlesden is to be a maiden over in Africa!
Reilly Shaw will pass on her skills to youngsters in Kenya. The sports sessions will be accompanied by education to help the youths avoid AIDS.
Reilly, 20, who works part-time at Sains-bury’s supermarket in Keighley, will spend two weeks in Africa with the charity Cricket Without Boundaries.
She is going with two fellow students from the sports development and PE degree course at Leeds Trinity University.
Reilly said: “I liked the idea of teaching in Africa. We will promote awareness of AIDS by using cricket.”
Reilly, above, has to raise £750 for the trip, and began her efforts with a cake stall for colleagues at Sainsbury’s. She and fellow students have also done a bag pack and book sale. Visit justgiving.com/reilly-shaw to support her fundraising efforts.
