A new group has been formed to spearhead activities for older people in Braithwaite and Guard House.

Braithwaite Senior Voice will organise trips, raffles, bingo, a quiz, dementia workshop and a visit to Bradford’s City Hall council chamber.

There will also be a ‘silver surfers’ group to help pensioners on the estate use computers.

The aim is to improve older people’s health and wellbeing in the area.

Braithwaite Senior Voice is being supported by volunteers, as well as 80 development workers and housing organisation Incommunities.

One of the first ventures is the Time Out Coffee Stop, which will run every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm at the Foster Gardens community room in Broster Avenue. E-mail pipgibsoncdw@hotmail.co.uk or contact Pip Gibson on (01535) 667221 to get involved.
