An all-dancing star of Keighley Amateurs’ pantomime has been honoured by a leading celebrity from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Fiona Spencer is this week dancing her way across the Victoria Hall stage in Mother Goose.
While appearing in many local theatrical shows in recent years she has also been studying with the Royal Ballet School to become a dance teacher.
She recently attended her graduation in London, where she was presented with her teaching certificate by Royal Ballet member Darcey Bussell.
Fiona said Darcey, who is also a Strictly Come Dancing judge, was an inspiration during her time with the Royal Ballet.
She added: “Darcey was an ambassador and patron for the academy and offered us guidance as we trained.”
As a child, Fiona spent several years performing in the Glusburn pantomime, rising from the kiddies’ chorus to principal roles.
She was also a child pupil at the West Yorkshire Dance Academy, whose principal Mary Fielding eventually offered her a position as a teacher.
Fiona later studied dance at university, then qualified for the Royal Ballet School course.
Mother Goose continues until Saturday. Call 08450 252550 or visit keighley panto.com for further information and to book tickets.
