A group formed to transform neglected or unused land into productive sources of food is celebrating securing its latest plot.

The Haw-Earth project has been granted use of a site to the side of Haworth Methodist Church in West Lane.

Group founder and village resident Ashna Yates said: “We’ve now been allowed a new piece of land to work on, which is brilliant.

“This is land to the side of Haworth Methodist Church in West Lane. It’s a nice area to be able to use, as it won’t require a lot of work to clear the land.”

The group will discuss this and other issues at its next meeting, the date of which has been changed.

Members were due to meet at Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane at 7pm on Monday. However, the gathering has now been shifted to Tuesday, to avoid clashing with another meeting. It will take place at the same time and venue. All are welcome to attend.
