An organisation that runs networking dinners for Keighley and Bradford Muslim professionals has thrown its weight behind a campaign to fund life-saving treatment for Callum.
The Professional Muslims Institute (PMI) is backing a drive to raise half-a-million pounds for the eight-year-old.
Callum’s mum, Kim Ager, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I heard – it’s going to make a big difference to us.”
Highfield resident Javed Bashir, 44, who set up PMI, said he intends to stage a fundraising dinner for Callum, pictured, involving up to 400 guests. The event will be held at 6pm on April 10 in Keighley’s Victoria Hall.
Mr Bashir said: “As Muslims, we have a duty towards our neighbours and wider society.
“I urge everyone from Keigh-ley’s community – regardless of race, colour, religion and background – to come forward and show their generosity for this cause.”
Contact Mr Bashir on 0844 8435652 or e-mail info@pmiuk.org.uk to book a corporate table, buy an individual ticket or to sponsor the dinner.
