Four well-known Silsden groups will entertain during the official opening of Silsden Town Hall on Saturday.

Members will perform on a new stage upstairs in the building, which was recently refurbished with £300,000 from Bradford Council.

Performing will be Silsden All Stars Majorettes (11.30am and 3.30pm), Silsden Singers (1.30pm), the Elisabeth Phillips School of Dance (2.15pm) and Silsden Town Band (3pm).

Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Khadim Hussain will cut the ribbon to officially re-open the hall at 11am.

The day’s festivities include a Valentine’s Fair organised by Silsden Gala Committee and supported by Bradford Council.

The Rev David Griffiths, from St James’s Church, will give a presentation on the Tour de France at 10.30am and 12.45pm.

Other activities will include face painting, the Book Start Bear, refreshments by Cafe Cake and an indoor gift market.

All proceeds will go to Silsden Gala Committee to reinvest in the community.

Coun Andrew Thornton, the Council’s executive member for environment, sport and sustainability, said: “This investment by Bradford Council in Silsden Town Hall has breathed new life into the building.

“It has created an accessible community hub, with much-needed flexible and high-quality space for local residents and groups to use.”
