A Keighley dog grooming salon has scooped a national accolade.

Look North Grooming & Training Centre has become one of the first salons in the UK to be awarded the top four-star quality assurance rating by the Pet Industry Federation.

The awards scheme – supported by the PDSA and Dogs Trust – involves an independent audit of the business, covering areas such as animal welfare, staff training, equipment, health and safety and customer care.

Groomers also receive an online assessment to measure their technical competence.

Joanne Angus, proprietor and director of the Henry Street salon and a founder member of the Guild of Master Groomers, said: “We are absolutely delighted to participate in this initiative for the grooming industry, and are thrilled to be one of the first in the country to receive the accolade.”

She and colleague, Zoe Duffy, a tutor and senior stylist, are highly respected competition judges and examiners for the Pet Industry Federation.

Together with senior stylist, Chris Swain, they also hold the highest grooming award, LCGI.
