An eight-mile sponsored walk along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal raised more than £1,000 for Manorlands.
The trek was made by staff from Steeton’s Currergate Nursing Home, which is run by Czajka Care Group.
The employees, along with two representatives from Airedale and Wharfedale’s Clinical Commissioning Group, walked from Silsden to Riddlesden.
£1,200 of their sponsorship total will be donated to Manorlands, while the remaining £677 will be given to the nursing home’s residents’ fund. This is used to pay for a variety of activities, including day trips, events and entertainment.
Czajka’s ancillary manager, Zoe Hooper, who helped organise the walk, said: “We feel very proud to have raised so much money, and the whole day was extremely rewarding.”
Andrew Wood from Sue Ryder Manor-lands, said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Czajka.
“This walk was just another example of how individuals can work together, giving up their free time, in order to create a memorable event that raises much-needed funds for the hospice.”
