Retired Keighley dentist dies aged 82

Retired Keighley dentist Sydney Lund has died at the age of 82.

Mr Lund and his wife, Margaret, started their dental practice in Skipton Road in the early 1960s.

Mr Lund, from Stanbury, did National Service as an RAF dental officer, and worked in various practices before establishing his own.

During the next 29 years, the Skipton Road practice grew to six full-time and one-part-time dentist. Mr Lund retired in 1991.

Mr Lund was a member of Keighley Rotary Club for many years, joining in 1978 and serving as president in 1993-94.

The club cancelled its regular meeting on Monday this week as a tribute so members could attend Mr Lund’s funeral.
