Silsden vicar the Rev David Griffiths spoke about the Tour de France at the weekend.
He led a presentation about the famous race during an event on Saturday to mark the official reopening of Silsden Town Hall.
The presentation included a talk about the history of the Tour de France and its UK connections through champion riders like Bradley Wiggins.
Mr Griffiths, from St James’s Church, then spoke about what the Tour would mean for Silsden, which is part of the route of the race’s Grand Depart in July.
Councillor Andrew Mallinson said: “People were very interested to hear where the race had come from and the local connections with the riders from the UK.
“It was also very interesting to hear what groups are doing and how people could be involved in the lead-up to the Tour.”
